The Cargo Pants Era Is Here... and My Skinny Jeans Are Filing a Complaint

Let's have a moment of silence for the skinny jeans that fought bravely through the 2010s.

They had a good run.

But somewhere between wanting to breathe again and realizing pockets are actually useful, I entered my cargo pants era... and honestly, I'm never looking back.

If you haven't tried the new generation of women's cargo pants, let me save you from the mistake of assuming they're the oversized, stiff pants from middle school or your dad's fishing trip.

Nope.

Today's cargo pants are flattering, comfortable, stylish, and somehow make you look like you have your life together—even if you're running on iced coffee and a to-do list that's laughing at you.

Why Everyone Is Obsessed

Cargo pants are having a major fashion moment, and it's easy to see why.
